ELEMENTARY
SCHOOLS
Cadillac
Area Public Schools' elementary philosophy begins with Developmentally
Appropriate practices in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, first and
second grades. "Hands-on" learning is encouraged at all
levels. The core curriculum teaching practices support the belief
that teacher, child and parents must be actively involved in the learning
process.
All CAPS
elementary schools offer all day, every-other day Kindergarten and
Pre-K, and each building houses an after school child care program
known as CAPS Clubhouse. In addition, McKinley Elementary School
is home to a half-day School Readiness Program for 4-year-olds. "Hands-on
Science" programs for students in grades 3-5 help to reinforce
science concepts that are taught in the normal classroom setting.
PE, Art and Music programs are available for all students.
